Abby Jimison

Abby Jimison (they/she) is a 2023 graduate of Western Kentucky University, where they earned a BFA in Performing Arts with a concentration in Theatre and a Minor in Musical Theatre. They are a versatile artist and arts administrator experienced in performance, dramaturgy, directing, playwriting, education, grant writing, and producing.​

 

Abby excels in both written and verbal communication, collaboration, and strategic program coordination. They have experience supporting institutional giving, community-driven programming, and producing panel discussions designed to spark civic dialogue. As a skilled writer, Abby can craft narrative copy highlighting specific programs, donors, or local and global events. Their background in grant writing enables them to effectively address the needs of an organization from the initial proposal to the final report. Whether working behind the scenes or on stage, they are passionate about accessibility, representation, and equity in the arts.​

 

Some of their notable artistic credits include serving as the producer for Florida Studio Theatre's 2024-2025 Forums Series, playing Alison Bechdel in Fun Home at Muskegon Civic Theatre, being the Swing in the world premiere of Synchro by Katie Peña-Van Zile, and working as the Dramaturg for She Kills Monsters at Western Kentucky University. Abby is particularly dedicated to creating inclusive and affirming spaces for disabled, queer, and trans youth, and believes deeply in the power of theatre to reflect, uplift, and transform communities.
